My Weekly Restaurant Rotation in San Juan
I live on a small island in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and my office is in a lively neighborhood called Miramar.
Miramar is full of charm with its mix of historical architecture and, most importantly, some great places to eat. Since I often get asked where I like to dine, here’s a peek into my weekly restaurant rotation.
Comedor
I try to hit up Comedor at least once a week, usually on Mondays or Tuesdays. It’s right next to my office, so I can easily walk over. Plus, it’s one of those spots where everyone knows you.
I always grab a seat at the bar and stick to my usual order: the tuna Japanese poke. Puerto Rico serves a lot of tuna, but this version is by far one of my favorites on the island.

Puebla
Wednesdays are my day for Puebla, a cozy Mexican joint just around the corner. It’s a perfect spot for a quick and satisfying taco break in the middle of the week.

Marco’s Pizza
When we’re too tired to cook, my wife and I order Marco’s Pizza for a cozy night in. With a three-year-old and a one-year-old, we’ve learned that pizza delivery is a lifesaver. We always go for the Pepperoni Magnifico—loaded with pepperoni and topped with a buttery, parmesan-crusted edge. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for family nights.

Piñones Food Tents
Fridays are reserved for my favorite local treat: a chicken skewer, or pincho, from the food tents in Piñones. This old-school stretch of road is lined with food stands offering some of the best authentic Puerto Rican eats. I grab my chicken pincho and then take a walk to Playa Piñones to enjoy it by the beach.
